Thank you for signing up for Century Park Walk.  The meeting time is from 10am to 10.30am at the Maan Café in the Himalaya Centre.

Century Park and the area around the park are an interesting part of Shanghai that feels worlds away from the older art deco buildings of the former International Settlement and French Concession. The walk will start at the atmospheric Maan Café inside the Himalaya Centre where we’ll pause to admire the unusual architecture. Crossing over the road, we’ll enter Century Park, the largest park in Shanghai, and explore some of the sculptures, landscaped areas and beautiful blooms that the park has to offer. We’ll cross the park and exit by the floral clock and follow across the bridge into Century Square (above AP Plaza, better known as the ‘fake market’). From here we’ll walk around the unusual Shanghai Oriental Art Centre and striking ‘Feoso Zhiguang’ – the ‘daffodil clock’ sculpture that marks the eastern-most end of Century Avenue. The walk will then circle back passed the Shanghai Science and Technology museum and we’ll walk along the river side path and the walking path that flanks the southern side of Century Park to the area where we began. Anyone interested in staying for lunch can choose one of the many restaurants in the Kerry shopping centre.

In addition to the usual cost of the walk, you’ll need 10 yuan to enter Century Park.

More information will be provided on the group wechat
